Job description

Location: Bristol, BS11

Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30

Salary: £90+ per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

We are currently working with a fantastic school with 3 sites that cover the ages 3-19. We are looking for teaching assistants to start post Easter on a full time basis, Monday – Friday, 8:30-4:30. As it is an SEN school, the curriculum is very flexible with a lot of outdoor and sensory learning. It is a beautiful site with a lot of outdoor land where the students can express themselves creatively and through sports. The students that attend have a variety of needs including, ASD, complex needs, SEMH and students that are non-verbal.

There are many benefits to working in this school, including being Team Teach trained by onsite experts, forest school learning, DofE and they have a school disco once a week which the sixth form age students organise and set up! This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who are looking to learn more about behavioural challenges and mental health on the job! This school is just off the M5 and accessible by public transport. This role is temporary with the view to go permanent after the initial settling in period.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is outgoing, proactive, caring and patient, with experience working with children or vulnerable adults. This school is far more interested in finding the right person to understand their children and to fit into their culture. There is not a one size fits all and the best teaching assistants/ school support workers come from a variety of backgrounds. Here's just a few of the best examples:
