Today we work with more than 60,000 families in over 150 community-based services, as well as supporting thousands more through national programmes and grants. We transform lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation.

The Youth Sector in Gloucestershire is a diverse landscape made-up of a rich and varied range of youth and community organisations. The Youth Support Worker will play a key role in delivering a high standard of youth work supporting young people across a range of needs and interests, ensuring that they have a voice in decisions that affect their lives.

You will have experience of developing, coordinating and delivering impactful youth activities, and you will be skilled in working with young people from a range of backgrounds who have experienced challenges and barriers to progression in education, family and communities. We are seeking applicants who are positive, empowering, resilient and can work with others to create positive outcomes.

  4. Actively participate in community outreach to connect with young people.
  5. Plan and deliver youth support, workshops, and recreational activities that promote personal and social development.

  1. A relevant qualification in Youth Work, Education, Health and Social Care or a related field (or willing to work toward a youth work qualification).
  2. Demonstrable experience of youth support work in a range of settings.
  3. Strong understanding of current youth issues and challenges.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage young people from diverse backgrounds.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and establish positive relationships with young people.

Benefits:
  1. An annual paid leave entitlement that commences at 25 working days, rising each April by one day, subject to a maximum of 30 working days plus bank holidays.
  2. Up to 6% matched-pension contributions.
  3. Flexible working arrangements and new starters have the right to make flexible working requests from day one of employment.
  4. Enhanced paid sick leave and paid family leave provisions.
