Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council is seeking a Youth Support Tutor to deliver a 12-week programme for 16–25-year-olds not in education, employment or training. The role is based in Baldock with a starting salary of £28,608, rising to £32,046 per year.

You will support work placements, next steps, and community projects while helping young people address personal challenges. Expect four 4-day residentials annually and active liaison with external agencies to recruit participants.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a team and in partnership with other Youth Support Workers.
• Able to work on own initiative with prioritisation.
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Full driving licence and use of own vehicle.
• Willingness to take responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the 12-week King’s Trust Team Programme for 16–25-year-olds not in employment, education or training.
• Support young people with work placements and next steps.
• Assist with a hands-on community project and personal challenges.
• Attend a 4-day team-building residential activity three times a year.
• Build relationships with external agencies to promote the programme and recruit participants.
