Job summary

Compass Community is seeking compassionate Residential Support Staff to work with children and young people in care. You will build positive relationships, support daily activities and education, and help create a stable, nurturing home environment.

The role welcomes applicants with or without prior experience; comprehensive induction and ongoing training are provided. A driving licence is required, and the position offers flexible hours and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Age 22 years or older (to meet Ofsted regulations).
• Caring and able to build positive relationships with others.
• Valid manual driving licence.
• Able to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Previous experience is not essential; induction and training provided.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with children and young people in care, putting them at the centre of everything you do and safeguarding them.
• Meet a variety of children and young people, some requiring high levels of supervision and support.
• Assist with the care of children and young people in all aspects of their lives including activities, hobbies and education.
• Create timetables, set boundaries and maintain consistency and organisation within the home.
