Job summary

YMCA East Surrey is recruiting a Housing Support Officer to join our Housing team in Redhill. You will provide high-quality housing-related support to young people and residents, empowering independence and move-on to stable accommodation.

Role requires excellent communication, safeguarding awareness, and trauma-informed practice, with duties including record-keeping, supporting residents at appointments, and liaising with external agencies. Driving licence desirable; 35 hours weekly, on-site.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 standard qualification or equivalent in housing, social work or youth work.
• Full driving licence desirable.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.

Responsibilities

• Induct residents into their accommodation and explain license terms and safety matters.
• Provide 1-2-1 and group support, assist with appointments, assessments and meetings.
• Maintain accurate records in computer systems and generate required reports.
• Operate safely as a lone worker and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Support Move on plans and resettlement to independent living.
