Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd in Dudley is recruiting a Housing Support Officer to assist young adults and care leavers in a supported housing unit. You will provide practical and emotional housing-related support to help clients gain independence and stability.

This daytime role runs 9am–4pm with a competitive £18 per hour rate and is offered as a temporary position with potential extension, offering an opportunity to make a real difference.

Qualifications

• Experience providing housing support or similar role.
• Strong understanding of support planning and tenancy sustainment.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and housing-related support.
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with young people.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 housing support to young adults and care leavers.
• Supporting residents to maintain tenancies and develop independent living skills.
• Creating, reviewing and updating support plans.
• Offering guidance around welfare benefits and housing benefits.
• Signposting to relevant services and agencies.
• Maintaining accurate records and case notes.
• Working in line with safeguarding and organisational policies.
