Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group is seeking a Supported Housing Support Worker for Gareth Stacey House and Lansworth House in Brighton/Hove. You will carry a caseload of residents, meet weekly to create tailored support plans, and help them work toward independent living while adhering to occupancy agreements and house rules.

You will promote timely rent payments, maintain knowledge of housing legislation, and coach residents to engage with services and build community networks.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or supported accommodation is desirable.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing for recording resident progress.
• Respect professional boundaries and follow safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of residents and meet weekly to build a support plan.
• Support residents to understand occupancy agreements and house rules.
• Promote rent-payment culture and financial responsibility.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing law, welfare benefits and statutory requirements.
• Coach young people to develop skills for independent living.
• Record resident progress and outcomes in In-Form.
• Work on a rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Ensure safeguarding and Trauma-Informed Practice are applied consistently.
