Job summary

YMCA Doncaster is seeking Housing Workers to support a 24-hour, year-round accommodation project for young people. You will oversee daily operations, conduct regular patrols, handle administrative duties, and liaise with emergency services as needed.

You will work independently on shift, keeping detailed records and ensuring safety and security across the premises. A flexible approach to tasks and strong communication skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Attend shifts reliably and on time to provide continuous cover.
• Carry out daily administrative tasks including rent collection and handling calls per procedure.
• Manage client move-ins and move-outs, inductions, benefit applications and related paperwork.
• Provide a visible security presence, patrol premises and address arising issues.
• Ensure that buildings and entry points are secure.
• Clean communal areas, bathrooms, toilets and vacant bedrooms as needed.
• Act as the professional point of contact with emergency and statutory services.
• Monitor CCTV and liaise with police to prevent damage to YMCA Doncaster premises.
• Record incidents, logs, visitors and other security matters accurately.
• Maintain hygiene, fire and safety checks and routine inspections.
• Supervise access to laundry and loan of household equipment.
• Engage with YMCA Doncaster's support programmes and assist clients to engage.
