Zusammenfassung

Bury Council is seeking an Accommodation & Homelessness Prevention Worker to join the Leaving Care Team and support care experienced young people aged 16 to 25.

You will collaborate with Personal Advisors, Social Workers and housing partners to help young people access, sustain and succeed in suitable accommodation, develop independence and tenancy readiness, and prevent homelessness through practical help and specialist support.

Qualifikationen

• Experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
• Understanding of challenges faced by care leavers.
• Knowledge of housing, tenancy support or homelessness prevention.
• Experience helping individuals develop independence and life skills.
• Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
• A flexible approach to work, including occasional out-of-hours when required.

Aufgaben

• Work directly with looked after children and care leavers requiring housing support.
• Help young people secure and sustain suitable accommodation and prevent tenancy breakdown.
• Provide budgeting, benefits, bills and tenancy management support.
• Deliver one-to-one and group-based support focused on independent living skills.
• Contribute to Pathway Planning and coordinate with Personal Advisors.
• Develop partnerships with housing providers and support agencies.
