Job Title: Youth Engagement Officer

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £30,859 per annum

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Between 7:30am and 8:30pm, working every other weekend

The difference you will make as Youth Engagement Officer

Are you passionate about helping young people thrive? We’re seeking a proactive and inspiring Youth Engagement Officer to support young people aged 16–19 on their journey toward brighter futures. You’ll deliver engaging activities and personalized support to help them access education, training, and employment opportunities. This hands-on role involves working directly with young people to build confidence, raise aspirations, and support their progression into positive outcomes.

You will work from one of our supported services, providing support to our customers in various ways.

Some of Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Engaging young people aged 16–19 through outreach, one-to-one sessions, and group work.
• Designing and delivering activities such as CV workshops, job clubs, skills training, and employability sessions.
• Organizing and promoting training opportunities, work experience, and volunteering placements.
• Supporting young people to set goals, overcome barriers, and develop action plans for growth.
• Building partnerships with colleges, training providers, employers, and local organizations.
• Championing youth voice and participation via feedback, co-designed programs, and leadership opportunities.
• Ensuring all work is inclusive, youth-led, and aligned with safeguarding and equal opportunity practices.
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to impact monitoring and evaluation.
• Using SMART goal planning to provide needs-led holistic support.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience working with young people aged 16–19 in supportive or developmental roles.
• Confidence in delivering employability sessions, CV workshops, and group-based learning.
• An understanding of barriers faced by young people and skills in motivational and strengths-based approaches.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse groups and work effectively in a multi-agency environment.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., youth work, careers guidance, education, community development) or equivalent experience.
