We are seeking a creative and passionate communicator to join our team, providing engaging and informative content to encourage residents' involvement in sport, leisure, and physical activities, as well as preparing for changes to our waste collection services.
You will be based in the Corporate Communications and Engagement team, working closely with colleagues in the Sport and Leisure and Waste Services teams within Communities, Environment, and Central.
Your responsibilities include ensuring our communities are aware of local offerings, particularly related to Greenwich Get Active, and promoting activities at our leisure centres, libraries, parks, open spaces, and the new state-of-the-art leisure centre under construction in Woolwich. You will also communicate service changes affecting residents and encourage recycling efforts.
The Corporate Communications and Engagement team manages some of London's most followed council social media channels, as well as media relations, reputation management, newsletters, and more.
Ideal candidates will have excellent writing skills, keen attention to detail, strong organization and time management skills, and a creative mindset. The role involves arranging photo opportunities with the Leader and Cabinet Members across the borough, sometimes outside of regular hours.
