Job summary

AKG (UK) Employment Ltd is seeking a dedicated Mentor to provide participant‑centred mentoring for eligible young people, helping them build confidence, remove barriers and prepare for employment. The role includes coordinating tailored pre‑employment and in‑work support with accurate action plans and records.

You will manage a caseload from referral through pre‑employment support, placement start and progression planning, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met across locations.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering one-to-one mentoring or employment support to youths.
• Experience in employability, welfare-to-work or youth employment.
• Strong ability to build trust and sustain engagement across multiple contacts (face-to-face, phone, digital).
• Knowledge of safeguarding, data protection and equality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with young people and establish supportive relationships.
• Manage a caseload through referral, pre-employment support, placement, in-work support and progression planning.
• Complete assessments, identify barriers, set SMART action plans and review progress.
• Deliver confidence-building, work-readiness and job-search support (CVs, interviews, sector exploration).
• Collaborate with Employer Engagement to match participants to funded opportunities and support recruitment and onboarding.
