Job summary

Sovereign & Bale is seeking an Activity Coordinator to design and deliver engaging, employment-focused activities for young people aged 18–24 across Leicester and surrounding areas. You will work with mentors, employers, and community partners to create inclusive programs that build confidence, transferable skills and workplace readiness.

The role requires planning sessions, adapting activities to diverse needs, coordinating venues and budgets, and ensuring safeguarding and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering engaging activities for young people or young adults.
• Strong facilitation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to turn creative activities into meaningful employability and personal-development opportunities.
• Experience in youth work, employability, education, community development or similar services.
• Understanding of safeguarding, equality, inclusion, accessibility, health and safety, risk assessment and data protection.
• Ability to travel regularly across the local area and work flexibly to meet needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging, inclusive activities that build confidence and employability.
• Plan sessions with clear objectives, resources and adjustments for varied participant needs.
• Use diverse activities to engage young people and support personal development.
• Coordinate activities with Mentors to align with progression goals and supports.
• Develop employability opportunities including employer talks and project-based learning.
• Coordinate external partners, venues, schedules, resources and communications.
• Promote participation and follow up non-attendance to maintain engagement.
• Build relationships with community, education, employers to widen progression opportunities.
• Create safe, inclusive environments and manage group dynamics and safeguarding concerns.
• Complete required risk assessments and maintain audit-ready records.
• Monitor attendance, engagement and outcomes to improve offerings.
• Support participants to progress into mentoring, training, work experience or employment.
• Manage activity resources and budgets ensuring value for money and safety.
