Job summary

BDS (Northern) Limited is seeking Youth Development Workers to support vulnerable young people aged 16–25 in the Bideford area within a supported accommodation setting. The role covers tenancy and housing management, benefits applications, and pathway development into education or employment.

The ideal candidate will understand safeguarding, risk management, and tailored support planning to help young people achieve personal goals. DBS checked required.

Responsibilities

• Explore and support pathways into education, training, and employment.
• Collaborate with external agencies (mental health, domestic violence services, landlords, etc.).

BDS currently have exciting opportunities for Youth Development Workers to join a well-established Housing Association in the Bideford area.

The main focus of this role will be to work across the Bideford area supporting vulnerable service users based in a supported accommodation service for young people aged 16–25.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review support and action plans tailored to individual goals.
• Update and manage risk assessments and risk management plans.
• Support young people with tenancy and housing management.
• Assist with benefits applications (e.g., Universal Credit, PIP, Housing Benefit).
• Explore and support pathways into education, training, and employment.
• Collaborate with external agencies (mental health, domestic violence services, landlords, etc.).

The ideal candidate will have:

• A good understanding of young people’s needs, safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues.
• An understanding of support needs and support planning.
• An understanding risk assessing and risk management.

Location; Working across the Bideford area

Working Pattern; Monday- Friday – shift pattern working between the hours of 8am and 9pm

This is a temp ongoing role to start ASAP

Pay Rate; £15.34ph PAYE - £19.90ph Umbrella
