LiveWest Homes Ltd is seeking a Youth Development Worker to support Cornwall West-based young people across Redruth and surrounding areas. You will build relationships, manage caseloads, and deliver one-to-one coaching and group activities to help young people gain confidence, access education and move toward independent living.

You will work a rota with weekday hours and some weekends, and must complete an enhanced DBS check. A Level 3 qualification or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience of working effectively with young people with varied strengths, needs and aspirations.
• Understanding of challenges affecting young people including homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, self-harm and offending behaviour.
• Experience of maintaining accurate records and implementing effective support plans.
• Understanding of needs assessments, risk assessments and safeguarding.
• Resilience and flexibility to respond to changing needs and challenging situations.
• Ability to work safely both independently and in a team.
• Confident communication with diverse groups and assessing difficult situations.
• Knowledge of education, training and employment opportunities and welfare/housing benefits.
