Job summary

LiveWest Homes Ltd is looking for a Youth Development Worker to support young people in Cornwall East. You will build relationships, provide coaching, and help develop independent living skills across the Bodmin area.

The role includes managing a caseload, creating support plans and delivering activities that promote learning and personal growth. The role is based across Cornwall East, with a rota covering weekdays and occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with varied needs.
• Understanding of homelessness, mental health, substance misuse and safeguarding.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and develop support plans.
• Knowledge of welfare and housing benefits.
• Comfort working independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with young people and manage caseloads.
• Provide one-to-one coaching, advocacy and practical support.
• Develop confidence, budgeting, employability and independent living skills.
• Plan and deliver activities for learning and personal development.
• Support access to education, training, employment and specialist services.
• Safeguard young people and contribute to a safe service.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external partners.
