Job summary

Action for Carers Surrey is seeking a Young Carers Activities Coordinator to support young carers aged 12–16 through clubs, activities and holiday programmes in the Guildford area.

You’ll plan evening youth clubs, weekend activities and school holiday sessions across Epsom & Esher, build trusted relationships with families, and help identify hidden young carers who may benefit from support.

Qualifications

• Has experience working directly with children and young people.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with young people and families.
• Experience planning and delivering engaging activities, workshops or group sessions.
• Understands safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Confident working with schools, community organisations and partner agencies.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
• Values of Focus, Inclusion, Respect and Excellence.
• Holds a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a regular programme of evening youth clubs, weekend activities and school holiday sessions across Epsom & Esher.
• Create safe, welcoming spaces where young carers can relax and be themselves.
• Build strong relationships with young people and their families; work with schools and partners.
• Identify hidden young carers who may benefit from support; provide informal guidance and encouragement.
