Job summary

Action for Carers Surrey is seeking a part-time Young Carers Activities Coordinator (18 hours/week) to plan and run evening youth clubs, weekend activities and school holiday sessions for young carers aged 12-16 across Epsom & Esher. The role involves safeguarding, building trust with families and working with schools and community partners to identify hidden young carers.

You will contribute to confidence building, resilience and future aspirations, while coordinating activities across Burpham

Qualifications

• Experience working directly with children and young people.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with young people and families.
• Experience planning and delivering engaging activities, workshops or group sessions.
• Understanding safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Confidence working with schools, community organisations and partner agencies.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
• Shares Focus, Inclusion, Respect and Excellence values.
• Holds a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a regular programme of evening youth clubs, weekend activities and school holiday sessions across Epsom & Esher.
• Create safe, welcoming spaces where young carers can relax, have fun and be themselves.
• Build strong relationships with young people and their families and work with schools and partners.
• Identify hidden young carers who may benefit from support and provide informal encouragement.
