Job summary

Loom Talent is partnering with an established logistics business to recruit a commercially driven Business Development Manager. Based in Doncaster, you will grow the pallet distribution offering across Yorkshire and the wider region, building a strong pipeline and relationships with senior decision-makers.

You will lead the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting through to negotiation, onboarding and account development, while protecting margins and ensuring operational deliverability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager or similar in pallet distribution.
• Strong understanding of pallet networks, groupage or road freight.
• Track record of winning and developing profitable new business.
• Existing Yorkshire market relationships are highly advantageous.
• Strong commercial awareness of rates, margins and transport costs.
• Experience in logistics distribution and supply chain environments.
• Confidence negotiating with senior decision-makers.
• Self-motivated with autonomy to develop a territory.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities across pallet distribution.
• Develop a strong pipeline of prospects across Yorkshire and nearby regions.
• Manage full sales cycle from prospecting to negotiation and onboarding.
• Build relationships with key decision-makers in manufacturing, retail, FMCG and distribution.
• Produce commercially competitive proposals while protecting margins.
• Collaborate with operations to onboard new customers successfully.
• Develop existing accounts and identify revenue growth opportunities.
• Maintain accurate CRM activity, forecasts and pipeline reporting.
• Align with wider logistics and supply chain teams to meet service expectations.
