Job summary

Gardiner & Theobald LLP in Leeds invites applications for a Year Out Surveyor. You will join the first year of the Accelerate Programme, gaining real responsibility, mentoring and accredited training toward Chartered MRICS status.

Expect exposure to cost management, budgeting, cash flows, tendering and client reporting while developing technical, commercial and leadership skills in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Good A-Level grades or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Measuring drawings produced by Design Team, manually or with CostX.
• Prepare cost plans establishing project budgets for clients.
• Assist with contract documentation, registers, preliminaries, pricing.
• Support review and comparison of tender returns for contractor appointments.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts for projects.
• Attend site visits and valuations; produce analysis and documentation.
• Support value engineering to identify cost savings.
• Attend project and design meetings; participate in progress meetings.
• Communicate with suppliers, contractors, design teams and clients about costs.
