Summary The role of a cost manager is to manage the cost and legal processes of a construction project. As a Cost Manager, your primary responsibility is to help ensure projects are delivered within the client's approved budget. This includes preparing cost plans, forecasts, cash flow projections, contract documentation and financial reports, while providing clients with clear and accurate advice throughout the project lifecycle. Effective communication and strong attention to detail are key to the role, enabling Cost Managers to keep clients informed of project finances and proactively manage associated risks.
Role Overview As a Year Out Surveyor, you will join the first year of the G&T Accelerate Programme which combines real responsibility, expert mentoring and accredited training to help you start preparations towards Chartered membership of RICS. Over the course of the programme, you will gain valuable experience across a variety of projects while developing the technical, commercial and leadership skills required to become a successful Surveyor. The role will be varied, and the actual experience gained will be dependent on the team and sector you are working in. Working within a team, you will be assisting your line manager with various aspects of daily work. In this role you will be expected to work with a certain level of autonomy while also knowing when to discuss and ask questions to ensure the best outcome. You will be building a solid knowledge base of your role, the firm and the industry, and how they all fit together.
