Job summary

RWE Offshore Wind offers a Year in Industry placement at the Sofia Offshore Windfarm in Grimsby, UK. This fixed-term, full-time role provides hands-on experience in Operations Engineering, exposure to offshore wind challenges, and a mentorship-driven development pathway.

You will gain practical insight into turbine life-cycle operations, work with a diverse team, and contribute to project planning, campaigns, and warranty close-outs while rotating across key site activities.

Qualifications

• Ongoing studies in Electrical/Mechanical engineering; Year-in-industry placement required.
• Eligibility to undertake a Year in Industry as part of the degree program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate workloads independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to other sites with travel expenses covered.
• Minimum five years’ residence in the UK due to National Security Vetting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical insight into operational challenges during early wind turbine life.
• Develop project management experience from planning through execution.
• Experience the importance of workplace culture and teamwork in an operational environment.
• Work in a hands-on environment at a self-perform operated site.
• Support statutory and annual routine campaigns as well as self-perform readiness.
• Contribute to close-out of warranty defects and support life-extension studies.
• Help manage day-to-day activities of an offshore wind farm.
