Job summary

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. is offering a Year in Industry placement at Scroby Sands Offshore Windfarm, Great Yarmouth, starting July 2027. The role is full-time and fixed-term for 12 months, fully site-based on the windfarm.

You will join the Operations and Maintenance team to observe and contribute to wind turbine operations and maintenance activities. This opportunity provides hands-on offshore wind experience, mentoring, and structured development with formal training including GWO

Qualifications

• Ongoing undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Eligibility to complete a Year in Industry placement as part of the degree programme.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organise and coordinate an independent workload while meeting tight deadlines.
• Experience of collaborating in a diverse team environment and engaging with a range of stakeholders.
• Clear motivation for the placement and alignment with current studies and career plans.
• Residence in the UK for at least five years due to potential National Security Vetting.
• Motivation is crucial; cover letter should explain suitability and how it aligns with studies & career plans.

Responsibilities

• Analyse wind turbine faults and recommend modifications to prevent recurrence, improve reliability and maximise performance.
• Contribute to development and implementation of engineering and maintenance strategies, policies and procedures.
• Support technical projects and gain practical project management experience.
• Develop knowledge of health and safety management, reporting and safety improvements.
• Create and improve safety documentation in accordance with Safety Rules.
• Drive site safety initiatives through offshore inspections and contribute to safety objectives.
• Work alongside qualified Wind Turbine Technicians to gain hands-on operational experience.
• Help ensure planned work and projects are completed safely, efficiently, within budget and to a high standard.
