Job summary

SF Partners is seeking a Year End Accountant in the East Midlands (Nottingham). The temporary role focuses on preparing and finalising the company’s annual financial statements, performing reconciliations, and supporting the audit process.

You will collaborate with the finance team to collect data, ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, and deliver clear reports to management within deadlines. Based at the Nottingham office with occasional remote work possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in a finance or accounting role with year end accounts responsibility.
• Experience in corporate or professional services environments is advantageous.
• Exposure to audit processes and liaising with external auditors.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Recognised professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete year end accounts and financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.
• Review and post adjusting journal entries.
• Assist with schedules and documentation for external audits.
• Analyse financial information to identify trends or issues for management.
• Collaborate with the finance team to verify data.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls during year end.
• Provide timely updates to management on year end progress.
• Support ad hoc reporting during the year end period.
