Job summary

Recruitment Services UK is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join our Cottingham team. The role focuses on year-end accounts production, with most time spent on preparing accounts and working papers rather than client management.

We welcome both full-time and part-time applicants, offering flexible patterns including school hours. AAT Level 4 or ACCA/ACA progress is valued, along with strong UK practice experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK practice year-end accounts preparation.
• Ability to produce well-organised draft accounts with supporting working papers.
• Strong reconciliation and detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare draft year-end accounts for limited companies and sole traders.
• Prepare clear, well-organised supporting working papers.
• Reconcile balance sheet and control accounts.
• Review bookkeeping records for discrepancies or missing information.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and CT600s.
• Liaise with clients to obtain missing records and resolve queries.
• Assist with monthly or quarterly management accounts when required.
• Keep jobs and internal workflows up to date as work progresses.
