Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Standish, WN6, starting September 2026. The role is long-term and temporary with potential for permanent placement.

You will support in the Nursery, assist with lesson delivery, and work closely with the class teacher to adapt resources. This is ideal for those with recent school experience and a passion for inclusive education.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting.
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
  • A Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education or similar – or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting in the Nursery setting and responding to children's individual needs.
  • Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps.

Nursery Teaching Assistant- September 2026

We're currently recruiting for a Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Standish, WN6, to support working in their Nursery setting. This role is on a long-term basis starting in September and is a temporary role.

You'll be joining an inclusive and supportive school, focused on supporting children to aim high and achieve their best. This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting in the Nursery setting, responding to all children's individual needs
  • Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps
  • Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources
  • Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong
Requirements or Skills:
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar - or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
