Job summary

Academics is recruiting an Experienced Year 6 Teacher to start January 2027 in Chatham, Kent. The role involves leading a Year 6 class, planning and delivering high‑quality lessons, and preparing pupils for SATs within a balanced curriculum.

The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues, leadership and support staff, building strong relationships with pupils and families to support progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• A qualified, experienced primary teacher (Year 6 or upper KS2 experience highly desirable).
• Passionate about raising standards and securing strong outcomes.
• Skilled in planning purposeful and inclusive learning experiences.
• Able to inspire confidence, independence and a love of learning.
• Strong behaviour management and high expectations for all pupils.

Responsibilities

• Lead and teach a Year 6 class with high expectations.
• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons aligned to curriculum.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to needs.
• Prepare pupils for SATs while maintaining breadth of curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues, leadership and support staff to drive standards.
