Job summary

The Graduate Network is seeking a Year 6 Graduate Teaching Assistant in Wolverhampton for September 2026 to July 2027. You will support Year 6 pupils with KS2 SATs preparations through 1:1 and small-group sessions, focusing on reading, grammar, punctuation, spelling and Maths.

The role offers hands-on classroom experience in a Good-rated primary school, with structured SATs preparation and opportunities to develop intervention strategies and pupil confidence ahead of national tests in May.

Qualifications

• Degree – a 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Desirable but not essential: experience tutoring, mentoring, volunteering or school-based support.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to Year 6 pupils.
• Reinforce classwork and help close attainment gaps.
• Help pupils build confidence ahead of KS2 SATs.
• Support revision and targeted intervention prior to KS2 tests in May.
