Job summary

Trust Education Limited in Pontefract area, West Yorkshire, is seeking a Year 6 Primary Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons and support pupils in KS2.

You'll plan and assess, maintain a positive classroom environment during a busy assessment period, build strong relationships with colleagues, and adhere to safeguarding policies. This is a full-time, temporary position with potential for longer-term roles.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage a Year 6 class effectively and maintain high standards of learning.
• Strong communication with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support pupil progress.
• Commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.
• Experience delivering KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver targeted lessons to prepare pupils for KS2 SATs.

The Role

• Good working knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• Plan and deliver targeted lessons to prepare pupils for KS2 SATs
• Monitor pupil progress through formative and summative assessments
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment during a high‑pressure assessment period
• Excellent communicator with well‑developed interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a supportive and dedicated team
• Follow school policies and procedures with regards to safeguarding and behaviour

The Ideal Candidate

• Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS)
• UK experience in upper Key Stage 2
• Maintain a proactive and positive approach to teaching and learning
• Display strong classroom management and communication skills
• Be passionate about inspiring and supporting children’s learning and development
