Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming and highly regarded Primary School in the Stanway area of Colchester that is looking to appoint an experienced Year 6 Class Teacher on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality lessons, prepare pupils for end-of-KS2 SATs, and support their final year of primary education in a nurturing environment, with a strong emphasis on behaviour, attainment and collaboration.

Qualifications

• QTS is essential.
• Experience teaching Year 6 and/or Upper Key Stage 2.
• Excellent knowledge of Year 6 curriculum and end-of-KS2 expectations.
• Experience preparing pupils for SATs and using assessment to raise attainment.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• High expectations for pupil achievement and personal development.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
• A positive and collaborative approach to working within a Primary School team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons to a Year 6 class on a full-time basis.
• Prepare pupils for end-of-KS2 assessments and SATs.
• Raise attainment and support pupils' transition to secondary school.
• Work within a inclusive learning environment and collaborate with school staff.

The successful Primary Teacher will take responsibility for a Year 6 class on a full-time basis, delivering high-quality lessons and supporting pupils throughout their final year of primary education. You will play an important role in preparing pupils for end-of-KS2 assessments and SATs, raising attainment and ensuring they are confident and prepared for their transition into secondary school.

The successful Primary Teacher will have:
