Job summary

North East Lincolnshire Council is seeking an Intervention Practitioner to join Yarborough Academy’s Year 6 team. The role blends targeted small-group teaching with class cover to support intervention within the core timetable.

You will use data to guide groupings, contribute to pupil progress discussions, and cooperate with teachers to embed interventions across the day. GCSEs in English and Maths are essential, with a collaborative team culture and strong professional development.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are essential.
• Experience working with children is desirable but not essential, what matters most is your approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted small-group work with identified pupils, planned with the class teacher, to close gaps in reading, writing and maths.
• Provide quality class cover so the class teacher can withdraw to deliver intervention themselves.
• Attend planning meetings and contribute to pupil progress discussions with evidence-based observations.
• Use the same assessment and tracking systems as the Year 6 team; adapt groupings as data dictates and communicate needs clearly.
