Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Year 6 121 Teaching Assistant in Wolverhampton. You will provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs in a Year 6 class, helping them access learning and build confidence.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children, understanding of SEN or additional needs, and strong patience and communication. Level 2/3 TA qualifications are desirable but not essential; a referral bonus of £250 is offered for successful placements.

Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 121 Teaching Assistant to join our Aspire Team and work in one of our schools in Wolverhampton. This role involves providing tailored support to a pupil on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and thrive within the school environment in their Year 6 class.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Help to manage behaviour in a positive and consistent way.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children (ideally in a school setting).
• Understanding of supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.
