Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Year 6 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work in a Wolverhampton school. The successful candidate will provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 6, helping them access learning, build confidence and thrive within the classroom.

You will assist with planning engaging activities, support social and emotional development, and collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to ensure consistent, compassionate support. Prior school experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children (ideally in a school setting).
• Understanding of supporting pupils with SEN or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
• Help to manage behaviour in a positive and consistent way.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
