Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a Year 1 Teaching Assistant in Walsall to provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence in the school day.

You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs, support planned activities, help manage behaviour positively, and contribute to the pupil's social and emotional development within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis in a school setting.
• Understanding of SEN/additional needs and how to support learning.
• Patience, empathy and excellent communication.
• Proactive approach to supporting learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs in class and around school.
• Assist planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Support positive behaviour management and a calm classroom.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
• Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs.
