Job summary

Aspire People Limited is seeking a Year 5 SEND Teacher for a mainstream primary school in Druid's Heath, starting ASAP on an ongoing basis. You will join a team supporting a Year 5 class with additional needs, focusing on enabling access to the curriculum.

The role involves providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support, differentiating learning, managing challenging behaviour, and working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to promote inclusion and independence.

Qualifications

• Experienced and confident working with SEND pupils (Year 5)
• Knowledgeable about ASD and ADHD in primary settings
• Able to manage challenging behaviour with a calm, patient approach
• Patient, calm and consistent support for pupils with additional needs
• Nurturing and supportive attitude towards children with SEND
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Flexible and adaptable in approach to differentiation and inclusion
• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to access the Year 5 curriculum
