Job summary

Aspiring to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Druid's Heath, a Year 5 SEND Teacher is sought to start ASAP on an ongoing basis. The Year 5 class has a high level of additional needs and requires a second teacher to provide targeted, specialist support.

You will work closely with the existing teacher and SEND team to support pupils with SEND, adapt learning, and ensure access to the curriculum while fostering inclusion and growth.

Qualifications

• Pupils in Year 5 with additional needs require specialist SEND support.
• Experience with ASD/ADHD and managing challenging behaviour is essential.
• Ability to adapt lessons to access the Year 5 curriculum and promote inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND.
• Differentiate and adapt learning to access the Year 5 curriculum.
• Support pupils with ASD and ADHD to engage in learning.
• Manage and calmly de-escalate challenging behaviours.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and the broader SEND team.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to promote inclusion and independence.
