Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for Year 4 in Stockbridge Village, Knowsley. The role combines general classroom support with 1:1 SEN assistance for students with ADHD, ASD, SEMH, and other needs. The successful candidate will work full-time, Monday to Friday, within KS2, and collaborate with teachers and specialists.

The position emphasizes a calm, proactive approach to behavior and learning, with DBS clearance required or in process. Competitive daily rate offered.

Qualifications

• Direct experience as a Primary Teaching Assistant in KS2.
• Proven SEN/SEND experience with ADHD, ASD, SEMH.
• Background as General TA, 1:1 TA, LSA, or SEN Assistant.
• Patient, adaptable, proactive in behaviour support, and relationship-building.
• Enhanced DBS registered on Update Service or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver small-group interventions and 1 to 1 TA support aligned with the KS2 Primary National Curriculum.
• Support SEN/SEND pupils, implementing strategies for focus, emotional regulation, and behaviour management.
• Differentiate learning tasks for Year 4 pupils to build confidence in English, Maths, and wider curriculum subjects.
• Work collaboratively as a Classroom Assistant alongside the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external educational specialists.
• Maintain a calm, structured, and encouraging classroom environment to keep pupils engaged.
