Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a child 1:1 in Year 4 with Autism Spectrum Disorder at a primary school in Knowsley. The role requires prior TA experience in a primary setting and knowledge of supporting children with ASD/ADHD, with an immediate start.

Operate as part of the school team on-site in Huyton, delivering tailored interventions, supporting inclusion, and promoting positive wellbeing for pupils.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months TA experience in a primary setting.
• Experience supporting children with Autism and ADHD is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service preferred or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 & Targeted Small Group Support: Deliver tailored learning interventions to help pupils master core subjects and build academic confidence.
• SEND & Inclusion: Support children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech/language challenges.
• Classroom Engagement: Assist teachers with behavior management and learning activity setup.
• Pastoral & Wellbeing: Act as a calm mentor, encouraging resilience in young learners.
