Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Leigh. This full-time role starts in September and offers valuable classroom experience within Key Stage 2.

You will support the class teacher, run small groups and provide 1-to-1 interventions in Literacy and Numeracy, while helping create a safe, inclusive learning environment and tracking student progress.

Qualifications

• minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills to support KS2 curriculum.
• Warm, firm and encouraging approach to behaviour management.
• Team player who collaborates with teachers and support staff.
• Enhanced DBS Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
• 2 professional references.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging daily lessons.
• Working with small groups and providing 1-to-1 targeted intervention in core subjects (Literacy and Numeracy).
• Fostering an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment for all students.
• Tracking student progress and assisting with classroom management.
