Job summary

Simply Education Ltd is seeking an experienced Year 3 Teacher for a long-term maternity cover at a primary school. The role is four days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) with class planning responsibilities and delivering engaging lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

The successful candidate will be confident in managing behaviour, building relationships with pupils and staff, and stepping in to lead the class with minimal support.

Qualifications

• Strong experience teaching within Key Stage 2 (Year 3).
• Not suitable for early-career teachers who need significant support.
• Able to plan and deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the curriculum.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning.
• Establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Hit the ground running and work independently during maternity cover.
• Manage the class during the maternity cover as needed.

Year 3 Teacher - Maternity Cover
4 Days Per Week Long-Term Role Planning Required

Simply Education are currently seeking an experienced Year 3 Teacher for a long-term maternity cover position within a primary school.

The role is 4 days per week - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - and the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the curriculum.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident primary teacher who can quickly establish themselves within a classroom, build positive relationships and maintain high standards of behaviour and learning.

The successful Year 3 Teacher will:

• Have strong experience teaching within Key Stage 2


• Ideally have previous Year 3 experience


• Be confident planning and delivering engaging lessons


• Have strong behaviour management and classroom control


• Set clear expectations and maintain consistent boundaries


• Be able to quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and staff


• Be organised, reliable and able to work independently


• Maintain high expectations of pupil progress and behaviour


• Be confident taking full responsibility for the class during the maternity cover

This is not a role for an early-career teacher looking for a significant amount of support - the school requires a confident and experienced teacher who can hit the ground running.
