Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 child on a 1:1 basis in a welcoming junior school in the DE55 area. The role starts immediately and may continue based on school needs. You will assist with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities, while fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate has experience with children, good communication, and a nurturing approach, with enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or education setting and with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the Year 3 class teacher with teaching and learning activities.
• Work with pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Support children who may require additional help with their learning.
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
• Support children with additional needs where required.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom preparation and general day-to-day activities.
