Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a passionate 1:1 Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Burnley.

The role focuses on providing dedicated support to a Year 3 pupil, helping them access learning, build confidence and reach their full potential both academically and socially. The ideal candidate will have experience with children in school or childcare settings, a calm and nurturing approach, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in school, childcare or support settings.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Ability to form positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Committed to supporting children's emotional wellbeing and educational progress.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH) is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to a Year 3 pupil throughout the school day.
• Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials as required.
• Support the pupil's social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Encourage engagement, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement support strategies.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
