Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Year 2 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Aintree, Liverpool. The role starts after October half-term 2026, full-time hours, Monday to Friday.

You will support two Year 2 pupils, help with reading, writing and early maths, and work closely with teachers and SENCO to provide stable, nurturing support. This is a temporary to permanent position with ongoing CPD and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Recent experience as a Teaching Assistant in KS1.
• Confident supporting Year 2 pupils with learning activities.
• Ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Reliable and able to commit to a long-term position.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support two Year 2 pupils with learning and engagement.
• Help pupils access classroom activities and follow instructions.
• Break tasks into clear, manageable steps.
• Provide encouragement and consistent support.
• Support development of confidence and independence.
• Assist with phonics, reading, writing and early maths.
• Monitor progress and feed back to teacher and SENCO.
• Work with staff to provide consistent, positive support.
