Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Year 2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in Salford, starting in October 2026. The school emphasizes a nurturing environment and supportive teamwork to help pupils thrive.

You will assist with literacy and numeracy, support individuals and groups, and help maintain a safe, engaging classroom that promotes pupil wellbeing and progress in Key Stage 1.

Qualifications

• A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine passion for working with primary-aged pupils.
• The ability to adapt support to meet individual learning needs.
• Experience working within a school or educational setting (desirable but not essential).
• Confidence supporting pupils within Key Stage 1.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 2 classroom.
• Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and targeted intervention sessions.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and active engagement in lessons.
• Helping to maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating learning environment.
• Supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
• Working closely with teachers and support staff to promote pupil progress and wellbeing.
