Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Padiham. You will support the Year 2 class teacher, deliver targeted interventions and help pupils develop literacy, phonics and numeracy skills.

The position runs 8.30am–3.30pm, with a salary of £14.25–£15.50 per hour. This full-time role starts early November 2026 or ASAP, offering ongoing development and potential for longer-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 1.
• Ability to support literacy, phonics and numeracy development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils and staff.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school. Key Responsibilities

You Will Need:

• Have previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 1.
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Have a good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Be confident supporting literacy, phonics and numeracy development.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be patient, proactive and enthusiastic about supporting young learners.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
