Job summary

Premier Education Ltd is recruiting an experienced Year 2 Teacher for a full-time long-term maternity cover in the Trafford area, starting January 2027. The role involves teaching a Year 2 class five days per week, planning and delivering lessons, and supporting pupils with phonics and early reading.

Qualifications

• QTS is essential for the post.
• Recent experience teaching in a UK primary KS1 class is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of the KS1 National Curriculum and phonics is required.
• Ability to plan and assess lessons independently and with support from colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Teach a Year 2 class five days per week.
• Plan, prepare, teach and assess lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum.
• Deliver engaging lessons that develop reading, writing and maths skills.
• Support pupils with phonics, early reading and KS1 learning objectives.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.
• Maintain positive classroom behaviour and routines, including SEND support where needed.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and school staff to support learners.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
