Premier Education Ltd is recruiting an experienced Year 2 Teacher for a full-time maternity cover at a welcoming primary school in the Trafford area, starting in January 2027. The role involves teaching a Year 2 class five days per week, planning, delivering engaging lessons, and assessing progress to support pupils through KS1.

You should be QTS, with recent KS1/Year 2 experience, strong phonics knowledge, and excellent behaviour management.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience in a UK primary school is required.
• Recent Year 2 or KS1 teaching experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of KS1 National Curriculum and phonics.
• Confident with planning, teaching, assessment and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Teach a Year 2 class five days per week.
• Plan, prepare, teach and assess in line with the Primary National Curriculum.
• Support pupils with phonics, reading, writing and mathematics.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching to individual needs.
• Maintain positive classroom behaviour and routines.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and school team.
