Job summary

Flourish Education are recruiting a Year 2 Teacher for a Good Ofsted-rated Primary School in Darlaston, with an immediate start available for the right candidate. This is a long-term opportunity running through to July for a nurturing Primary Teacher who can deliver inclusive lessons, support pupils with higher SEN needs and create a positive learning environment.

The role is paid to scale and includes full class teaching responsibilities, including planning and marking.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Experience teaching Year 2 / KS1 in a Primary School.
• Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for KS1 and KS2.
• Excellent behaviour management skills.
• Experience supporting children with SEN and challenging home circumstances.
• Nurturing, inclusive teaching style focused on individual pupil needs.
• Ability to plan, prepare, mark and track progress for a full class.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for a Year 2 class and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to pupils’ learning needs.
• Complete marking and assessment to monitor progress and address gaps.
• Support children with higher SEN needs in an inclusive environment.
• Maintain excellent classroom behaviour and a safe learning space.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and school staff to support every pupil.

Job Role

• Taking full responsibility for a Year 2 class within a welcoming Primary School, delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Planning, preparing and delivering high-quality lessons tailored to pupils’ individual learning needs and abilities.
• Completing all marking and assessment to monitor progress, identify learning gaps and support pupil development.
• Supporting children with higher SEN needs and those experiencing challenging home circumstances through a nurturing, inclusive teaching approach.
• Maintaining excellent behaviour management and creating a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment.
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and the wider school team to ensure every pupil can achieve their potential.

Required Skills and Experience

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience as a Year 2 Teacher, Primary Teacher, Key Stage 1 Teacher or Class Teacher within a Primary School setting.
• A strong understanding of the National Curriculum, Key Stage 1 (KS1) and the wider primary curriculum, including Key Stage 2 (KS2).
• Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to establish clear expectations and positive relationships with pupils.
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including pupils with additional learning needs and challenging home circumstances.
• A nurturing, patient and inclusive teaching style that recognises and responds to individual pupil needs.
• The ability to take full class responsibility, including lesson planning, preparation, marking, assessment and progress tracking.
• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting positive outcomes for all children.

• Pay: £168.80–£232.57 per day, equivalent to £32,916–£45,352 per annum, based on working five days a week for a full school year.
