Job summary

Flourish Education is seeking a warm Year 2 teacher for a full-time maternity cover in Rubery. You will lead a Year 2 class, deliver lessons under the national curriculum, and support pupils academically and emotionally.

Are you a warm, dedicated Key Stage 1 teacher looking for a full-time role?

A welcoming and friendly primary school in Rubery is seeking an experienced year 2 teacher to cover a maternity leave starting in October, on a long-term basis. This is a full-time teaching role working with a lovely Year 2 class, within a school known for its supportive leadership team and positive staff culture.

This opportunity would suit a confident and nurturing year 2 teacher who can quickly build strong relationships with pupils and staff. The school is looking for a year 2 teacher who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to fit seamlessly into their established and welcoming team.

As a year 2 teacher, you will take full class responsibility, delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum and supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. The school places a strong emphasis on teamwork, wellbeing, and creating a positive learning environment for both pupils and staff.

As a year 2 teacher your responsibilities will include:

To be successful in this year 2 teacher role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Previous experience working as a year 2 teacher or within KS1.
• A nurturing, patient, and positive teaching approach.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team.
• A flexible and professional attitude when covering maternity leave.
