Job summary

Flourish Education is seeking a warm Year 2 teacher for a full-time maternity cover in Rubery. You will lead a Year 2 class, deliver lessons under the national curriculum, and support pupils academically and emotionally.

The role requires QTS and KS1 experience. You will collaborate with a supportive team, maintain strong relationships with staff and ensure a positive learning environment for all pupils.

Qualifications

• QTS required with KS1 experience.
• Experience teaching Year 2 and managing a full class.
• Nurturing, patient and positive teaching approach.
• Strong classroom management and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to cover maternity leave.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Year 2 lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Take full responsibility for a Year 2 class during maternity cover.
• Assess, track and report pupil progress.
• Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, support staff and senior leaders.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing alongside academic progress.
